At the beginning of their lives puppies and kittens need vaccinations to help protect them against some of the common life threatening diseases they may come into contact with. An initial vaccination course consists of two sets of injections given a few weeks apart. After this initial vaccination course they need to have a booster each year to maintain this protection.
Oops! I missed a Booster
We understand that sometimes life can be hectic, and forgetting your pet’s annual booster happens. Unfortunately if your pet does miss a booster, they will need to start the full vaccination course again.
Don’t worry – we have got it covered and offer a year round Vaccination Amnesty. This means if you do ever miss your pet’s booster, whether it be one day over or 50 – we will restart the entire course for the cost of a booster! Many other vets may offer a periodic amnesty once a year as a marketing campaign but we feel that this issue is so important that you can re-start your pets vaccinations at any time of the year.
What do the Vaccinations cover?
The initial dog vaccination course will vaccinate against Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Distemper, Hepatitis and Parainfluenza.
The initial cat vaccination course for cats will vaccinate against feline leukemia, enteritis and herpes.
When we give a booster or vaccination course our vets will also give your pet a health check. This is a bonus of having an annual booster – sometimes we can pick up on conditions early when they are easier to treat.
